Kaminski Auctions is pleased to announce the landmark sale of The Lucille Roberts Collection, featuring Fine Art, Period Antiques, and Prestigious Collections, sourced directly from the magnificent Woolworth Mansion at 4 East 80th Street, New York City.

The Collection’s provenance is rooted in one of New York’s most historically and architecturally significant residences. This approximately 20,000-square-foot, seven-story French Gothic masterpiece was built in 1915 by famed architect Charles P. H. Gilbert for retail magnate Frank W. Woolworth, as a gift for his daughters - including heiress Barbara Hutton’s mother, Edna Woolworth Hutton. Barbara was famously married to actor Cary Grant. Its classic limestone façade features monumental dormers, and the interiors boast palatial details like the soaring, 14-foot-high ceilings of the parlor floor, intricate mosaic flooring, and a sweeping master staircase lit by a stained-glass skylight.

The contents of this historic mansion were acquired by a woman of equally impressive stature: Lucille Roberts (1943–2003). An immigrant born in Tajikistan, Roberts became a pioneer in women’s fitness, successfully building the Lucille Roberts health club chain into a multi-million-dollar empire with over 50 locations. As a shrewd and successful businesswoman, she focused on making fitness affordable and accessible exclusively for women, setting a groundbreaking standard in the industry. The collection reflects her personal taste, success, and the grandeur of the legendary home she occupied.

Join us for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire pieces from a collection rich in both architectural and entrepreneurial history.
